In addition to the disruptive activities of social movements, the whole process could be seen as a model for the peaceful resolution of border conflicts. The Security Council praised the work of the United Nations Office for West Africa, which headed the Cameroon-Nigeria Joint Commission, and the Monitoring Committee, which oversaw how the Greentree agreement was implemented. Undies have played an important role in helping to delineate land and sea borders between the two countries.
